My roommate is having somewhat of a heart attack over election results. He believes, and I kind of agree, that in a couple of years we'll have a democratic president and the same things the republicans have been doing in complete control, the democrats will be doing.i haven't been following very closely but he is convinced that we're in big trouble. Clearly a republican, he thinks that things were about to be as good as they can get. Even though i didn't follow the elections very closely, i have very little faith in current political society and don't think that things were about to get anywhere close to as good as they can get. I think we need massive political reform in the world today but i mostly believe that it's simply not going to happen in my lifetime.
I'm starting to pay more attention to what I can do to further global society and while some may say I am getting a late start, I know that I am getting my start with far better foundations than most people that vote. There are a lot of people that blindly vote because of the ways that they were raised and never take the time to question their own personal beliefs and values simply because their beliefs are those of their parents.
There is one thing in politics that makes me laugh every time i think about it, and that's Ted Stevens.
